IFS on a FED?

 

My hometown - Barstow, CA, looks to be about 1949. This shot is looking east on Rt. 66 (Main St.) The Richfield tower in the background was part of a plan to build hotel/restaurant/service stations all up and down the main routes in CA. It had a rotating beacon on the top and was aptly named "The Beacon Tavern". The one in Barstow was the only one ever completed (although a few beacon service stations were built).

 

Hence the Beaver nickname.

reminds me of the short-bed chevy pickups that were everywhere in the late '60s. i think the army paid something like $1,200 apiece for them!
