  1. iphone pictures 010.JPG I'm into poverty caps but without trim rings. I like lots of red showing on my rims.

These are stock '49-'50 Ford caps and rings, but in the front they are on Chevy rims; in the rear they are on Ford rims.

Finally broke down and paid the price for new centers on my hubcaps. I waffled back and forth over to restore the originals which would have been very time consuming or pay Mc Vey's over double what I originally paid for the hubcaps....Mc Vey's got my money, but I'm happy with the results. Trim rings and trailer hub caps from summit racing for $10 per. They are deep enough to clear the axle shaft sticking out on banjo for rear differential. [IMG][IMG]

    Hello,
In 2017, on our road trip to Goleta, CA, we came across the center piece of the resort where we were staying for the next several days. It is/was a Ford Woody Wagon straight from the appropriate era.

We had stayed in this property back in 1966, 67, 68 and twice in 72. Back then, it was the Holiday Inn and physically, looked pretty much the same. (A courtyard drive way, giant pool, restaurant, great rooms overlooking the pool, and easy access to the 101 Freeway.)

51 years later, the resort got an extensive make over to become, the most “California Beach Lifestyle” rooms around. The lush grounds, dining facilities, "60's beach era" rooms and lobby were fit right into what one would think of as, So Cal. It is/was a great remodeling of that whole resort compound, we have seen anywhere. The Kimpton Goodland Resort is now, a perfect example of 50s-60s beach lifestyle décor in any of the resorts in So Cal, where we have stayed. We stayed upstairs in almost the same room, upstairs overlooking the pool, as back in 1966-72.

upload_2019-1-19_3-46-5.png The Ford woody is always parked on the main entrance driveway leading to the lobby.

Upon arriving in the long driveway, one thing automatically sticks out. It is/was a cool looking Ford Woody Wagon with the smooth Ford hubcaps that looked like beauty rings and a small cap. But, upon closer inspection, it was a one piece hubcap. No fancy mags or chrome wheels, just a cool looking, 50's-60's theme, “Ford” look.

Do you happen to like trailers and trailer camping? Here is a great example of an Airstream trailer from that era. It portrays a beach lifestyle that the resort is implying in their décor. It was located right behind the Ford Woody Wagon in the resort entrance driveway. Appropriately enough, with the curvy designs and elegant look, it is/was called “Rita Hayworth.” It is open daily for resort customers to have another quiet place to hang out and read/type/internet usage without having to go to Starbucks.
