I have never been to this and was wondering if it is worth going. It is about an hr from me and it is suppose to be a nice day. Thanks. Jim
Day is looking good so I will be going. A wide variety of stuff for sale there with an ample supply of lawn care equipment mixed in with the car stuff. Pretty substantial car corral & nice people.
I just got back from Lake Compounce and it was pretty overwhelming. SO many people and vendors selling all kinds of stuff. A bunch of cars and car projects for sale as well as parts new and old. As said there was no shortage of lawn equipment. Lots of motorcycle and quad parts as well. I didn't buy much except for consumables but with my projects being a little farther along in the spring I will be back to buy. A don't miss if you live nearby. Jim
Fist off, “Lake” is in the name fo a reason. The ducks loved it. Here’s a few photos of the “on topic” merchandise. Cold at 6 am, beautiful by noon.
My 2 Cents! As said cold and dark driving up at 5:30am , but as the day went on you could not ask for a better day in November. The coupe ran great up on the highway with it's new drive shaft. Good to see many old friends! Nice day. CSRA members were there making sure everything was running as it should. They did have a bit of a challenge with the wet field conditions, but really did a great job working around them. Thanks guys and gals. Here are a few of my photos. A bit of everything for sale! Car Chorale. This was nice, and for sale.
Good Fun Day! This pickup had the right look and stance. It was for sale! And the Red Rims made it pop. Nice clean date night cruiser! Also for sale! Caddy for sale! Looks like this guy is thinking about it!
Ok! The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly! You decide which is which. In no particular order. I know I am getting old! But WTF
I bought a 1/2" x 3/8" socket to replace a missing one, Oh and coffee! Oh and apple fritters that I shared with Ronnie Roadster. Still a good fun day.
Some of the stuff seemed reasonable but there was also some stuff that was ridiculous priced. I like to get my consumables at these shows like, grinding wheels and sawzall blades. I wish I had checked my sup=ply of electrical connectors. Decent prices. Jim
My parents took me to Lake Compounce as a kid - 5-11 years old if I remember. Fun amusement park with great footlong hot dogs. Hours playing .10 cent Skee-Ball and riding all the rides. Great childhood memories - hated when sundown was near and to hear... time to go - we'll comeback next year. Those were the days.
These guys remind me that there once was a mink ranch here in Ridgefield, Dad worked there on weekends back in the 1950's -1960's. He swapped a mink stole for a 1931 Ford Roadster body, car is still in my garage today. I didn't have to look too long to find this pelt stretcher in my non automotive pile of stuff. Bob
