Projects Got any Winter Projects Yet?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by low budget, Oct 31, 2018.

  1. Same as last winter, only now I'm retired. Should be doable now. Fresh engine into 47, overdrive and steeper gears, and maybe injection, then finish off interior in 47. All in hopes to drive to El Mirage, LA Roadster show, Pebble Beach(what?) and Woodies on Wharf in Santa Cruz next June. Our son lives in Bay area, so we'll likely visit them for a few days, too.

My winter projects are sponsored by "honey do":D. Thinking of selling the '27 T Tudor and daydream/search for a body to go gasser style.

Pull the V-8 out of the Circus and install the more appropriate 302 GMC.

I'm collecting parts and doing what i can over the winter on this '57 F100. I just sent the front axle off to get dropped and ordered some dress up items for the y block. I'm hoping to have the engine and transmission cleaned up and resealed/ rebuilt by January 2019. Hopefully I'll be able to basically take April 2019 off and get the bodywork and paint done on it! It's going to be pretty neat I think!

Chop top cool car...I gotta say that is a real interesting body style.

It was a transition from fat fenders to the flat sided 50's look.

The top almost looks removable as well.

It's quite sizable as well as a Coupe.

    Have fun with it...;)

Ok, Today is November 1st and I feel like I'm starting with a clean slate. I'm over the post Hershey depression, hope to get to the CSRA Swap Meet Sunday and end the 2018 season, it was a good one. I can get a lot done without spending any money, just need to get and stay motivated. Redoing the back wall of the garage is job one, listing every bit of non automotive crap on (that auction site) is goal #2. I'd like to knock off some debt and have some Mad Money. Blast and prime the '39 pickup frame and '29 body shell by Spring and I'd be a very happy HAMBer. Bob

I have a couple of Dodge Brothers cars to finish up for 2 of my kids, then it is back onto the '33 Plymouth coupe hot rod I started on 3 years ago that got side tracked when I picked up my avatar and resurrected it. '59 - '60 influenced high boy with 331 hemi and LaSalle tranny. Maybe it will make it to Bonneville this year if all goes well!

Last years summer project drug through last winter and through this summer so it’s still dragging on. Maybe by spring I’ll have it back on the road, and maybe not. Too little time and money to make great leaps of progress, and the older I get the less the body cooperates.

Change over the banjo gearing to more highway friendly gears on my 34 pickup and reupholster the seat. Minor maintenance on both the 37 and 34.

White and black stock like interior is going away. Will be replaced by new double loop 20171023_110455.jpg carpet and black tuck and roll. Not a big winter project but it needs a change.
