Political ads on the HAMB ? Gemme a break!

  2. Goes well with all other unrelated nonsense around here. ;)
And if you keep that attitude up, forum thought police will delete your Hokey A** comments

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. I just looked at the most recent three pages of the HAMB and found not one single off-topic thread. I believe non-appropriate threads are absolutely the exception not the rule.

If you would have been here 15 years ago when every other post was about "so and so is a HairBitch (TM)" you would have really freaked out.

    Your mileage may vary.

  5. Perhaps I'm not wearing proper rose-colored reading glasses, but I also respectfully disagree.
While most threads may not start with off-topic (i.e. "traditional" hot rod/custom content), many do and most end up containing a lot of "unrelated nonsense". I admit I too contribute some of it, but often with tongue-in-cheek sarcasm in attempt to point out the ridiculousness of some of it.
And to pretend that this website/forum is somehow different from others is just ridiculous too.
But hey, it's not my site. If the owners wish to sell their ad space to political entities, it's their right, correct ?

And although I spend very limited time and areas on it, I guess I should be thankful for not having had a computer/internet/forums 15 years ago, as most I see on it today, freaks me out enough. ;)

If your logged in this is a non issue...

Some ads seem to have some connection to my surfing on occasion...I was looking at roof-vents and I bring up the Hamb and there's vent ads......the crazy internet is a big pile-o-shit to meter...always outside sources trying to pry right into your life from every angle possible. How Ryan runs this giant is no easy task and perhaps he can control or discontinue their business due to content violation...

    Then there's those spamaramers...

Those aren’t from me man. Those are from google adsense.

    Sorry.

I’ll just send you a pm. No sense in getting all “teenage girl” on it.

  14. Sorry, I didn't realize those algorithm things creep into place like this also.
I've seen them as sidelines on my email pages and couple of other places.
Most appear to do with my wife's search activities and unlike me, she apparently takes clothing & politics more seriously than me.

P.S. I'll reply to your PM shortly.

Just install an ad blocker program. I never see ads on my pc at home. I use ABP (Ad Block Plus).

  20. Logged on I get no ads.

In addition to 'HairBitch,' 'asshat' was in high rotation once, as were many others.

In fact, people don't hardly even swear anymore. Some of the recent arrivals sooking about things would have had heart failure 10 - 15 years ago.:D

  21. I got rid of the ads by uninstalling to HAMB app and then reinstalled it.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
