I knew she had something old back there, but in the 11 years I've lived here i have never made it behind her house.

1955 Olds with 324 Rocket? If it is i could use the Hydramatic behind my Jimmy 302. There is still oil in the oil pan, good sign
EDIT: Looks to be a '54

The rear bumper is inside. Looks decent also. Along with a taillight housing.

She said get it out of there...

Surprised the grille bar is still there but even more so that the breather is still on it as easy as that would have been to pack off. I always liked that grille, customiizers do as well, I always visualize it on the back of a custom A truck etc. with dual exhaust through the ports

1962–1965. Due to poor market reception, and rumors that overloading caused the doors to jam shut, the unibody trucks were dropped midway through 1963 model year. The result was that some 1962 and 1963trucks use the bed from the 1957 through1960 style. Also, 1963 and 1964 4X4 used the 1957-1960 bed.

I should know by this weekend. I have a soft spot for earlier 4wd's, I think, but I'm not certain, that this one is a '66.

  10. All 4x4 trucks from 61-66 used the earlier wrong bed except the 66 F100 4x4.
4x4's from those years had low production numbers and are hard to find in decent shape. That one above looks pretty good!

IMG_20170209_212358_213.jpg When I got out of the service back in the 90s, I lived on the eastern shore of Virginia; a place that was no place for a guy in his early 20s.
One thing I loved about the shore however was the inexhaustible supply of old cars parked in the woods. There were thousands of them, and anything you can imagine was in the woods somewhere there. Convertibles to station wagons and Simca's to Chevy's.
I have hundreds of photos I took there in the 90s, here are just a few. One day soon I'll get around to scanning some more for this thread. View attachment 4080625 View attachment 4080625 IMG_20170209_212231_118.jpg IMG_20170213_234538_048.jpg IMG_20170214_000340_818.jpg

That 58 Buick is so fucked, but I'd love to have it. Not to build, just to have.

  19. Looks like a farm/ranch boneyard. Was the A cowl/Chevy banger thing once a home made tractor maybe?
Lots of other interesting stuff in the background.....any more pics?

  27. This 54 stude was sitting in the brush. My buddy, Tom rescued it and I ended up with it and 3 more. Sold off 3 of them and traded the 4th for my 34 chassis tomstudepartscar.jpg

IMG_1489.jpg Also came across this nice old GMC near Taos New Mexico. Fortunately the dry climate has them setting but not necessarily rotting.

Yes, don't see them very often. I was collecting material for a winters worth of paintings. Watch the Friday Art Show for this one to show up in the next couple of weeks.
