I hear that, Flat! Daughters and a son conspired to 'draft' me onto the stupid FB, I almost scream every time I go to email! Thought I quit it once, have to 'unsub' again.

These douchbags must be trying to get the highest negative score.

  5. I'm not familiar with this type of race. Can someone explain how you get points to win? What is the strategy and rules?

The worse your car, the more points you start with. And get points for hitting checkpoints. And whatever else the organizers feel like doing. It's mostly all a big joke, an excuse to have some fun with cars.

OMG! I have to find a way to do this... I should cobble together one of my 1930's trucks and enter it!

  9. Yes I'm following the scores on Facebook.

My friend Speedycop ran the 1st east coast rally in a 3 wheeled Reliant. The Roadkill guys ran that in a shortened late 70s Lincoln. Its a non racing extension of the 24 hours of Lemons. Wether the rally or a race their events are worth attending. Weird, home brewed ingenuity, wild engine swaps, crazy scoring and penalties. And as Squirrel said, the crappier the car the better

I'm sure the driving attire added several points to Squirrel and Twin's overall score!

Is David sporting one of his Nixie tube watches? Those are the coolest.

We are both wearing Nixie watches, of course.

He'll probably sell his lab coat. But I think he took it apart.

Kudos to Jim and David for their stellar performance!!

Looking at the scoreboard I noticed the team “Kuhly 1”.....driving a Caddy El Dorado.
Here in Quincy there is an import car specialist shop named “Kuhly’s” ....and as I passed by their shop a few times recently I noticed an old metallic gold Eldo parked nearby...fake continental kit on the deck lid and various other kitschy clap trap that was popular in certain locales back in the day. The Eldo seemed terribly out of place at Kuhly’s.....

Now it all makes sense......some of our Local Boys are competing in this event!!

Nonetheless, I am still in Jim and David’s corner rooting for the Big Win! ;)

Jim, thanks for sharing that with Colby. I have known Colby and his Dad, Mark, the Original Kuhly, for many years. Good people and they run a first class shop.

Still filling along. At the Blue Hole. David needs to go swimming so we can get 50 points.

  20. It's probably just as well. It appears to be excessively flashy for an undertaker.

We think about work (as undertakers) to keep the dour looks.

It was great meeting Larry. His model A is really neat. And the water bag is great! Thanks again.

Made it to Grsnts. In to Gallup.

Cracked me up when the gal brought you guys lunch out stopped short
looked at you and your brother and said
    'you guys look alike'!
It was my pleasure to meet up with you and thank you for taking the time.
Your car is quite the looker and really runs well for the long sleep it had.
    Safe travels
