i have a 29ish 4door sedan that i want to sit as low as possible. is it better to get a model A frame and modify it...or build my own frame with 2x3 tubing. what are the advatages to either. and are there any resources for help if i choose the road of making my own. thanks
You just left a post on a thread I started so I assume you saw my frame- it started as a model a but everything from the cowl back is new 2x4 tubing. I wanted the look of the model a frame horns so that's why I went that way. Would have been pretty much just as easy to start from scratch but it wouldn't have had the same look. Check this post for another way to do it as well: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11882&referrerid=8748
I'd build a new one. By the time you get an original all boxed and straight, you've wasted several cases of beer and still have a spineless, twisty, paint-cracking, powder-coat won't stick to rust, waste of a frame. Wescott has the dimensions at: http://www.wescottsauto.com/pdf2/FR-2.pdf
