My project is a 1940 Plymouth Deluxe in the 4 door model. Bought this car in the summer of 2016 after finding it in a family friends barn where it had been sitting since 1964. Had the original 40’-41’ plate, an inspection sticker from 1964 (year it was parked) and inside the glovebox was the original envelope with the owners manual, service policy and a Plymouths beauty hints book. Figured it would make for a great and unique first car :) Amazingly there is no rot on her and the interior is great. Motor is not stuck but certainly needs to be rebuilt. Speaking of, anyone know the average price to have that done? All she needs is the motor rebuild, brakes, wheels and tires. I’m hopeful it won’t take too much longer but when you’re 16, money doesn’t come around to that extent very often. Thanks for reading. Looking forward to meeting many of you.

    @1940headache ,

    I took the liberty of working with one of the artists over at the Photoshop thread to create a traditional mild custom version of your Mayflower. Hopefully it will provide you with some inspiration.

    Basically, it is a healthy lowering with wide whites and Hollywood Flipper caps, modest dechroming, and deep candy blue paint.

    Of course, you might have a completely different vision for your ride, but I hope this gives you an idea of what is possible if you go with a traditional custom build.

    Special thanks to @themoose ! 20180801_221636.jpeg tapatalk_1533344697596.jpeg

    I like it! I am taking a stock original approach to it but it is really cool to see what could be done. Thanks!
