Henry J Gasser pictures

Loudbang, thanks for posting a never before seen photo of our old A/GS car in its street legal trim. My partner and I really loved that car as it was our first purpose built race car. It was also the sheet metal donor car for the Cal-Automotive fiberglass hood, fenders, doors and deck lids manufactured and sold in the early sixties. It also made it onto the cover of Hot Rod magazine in the eighties in a group shot at a drive-in. Sadly, the car was totaled as the result of a street racing accident. I guess I will try to post my pictures of it in race trim.

 

That is great news about the photo. This is what keeps me going bringing back memories of members cars.
I for one would like to see more it's a great color.

Right hand Steer?

 

I don't know if it's just me or not, I think these cars look kind of dorky with the traditional hot rod rake or flat stance.
The very same car with a gasser/nose high stance looks incredible.
Lots of room in the front wheel wells for fender well headers
Henry J's are the first car that come to mind when I hear the word "gasser".

 

I Think he’s in the middle. The body is on a dragster frame. Sure looks like a car that ran at Spokane and Deer Park.
