Did ya get the arm down onto that newly installed and adjusted E-brake?

I did lose pedal on an OT and the E-brake got me home...after the initial excitement was over.

It’s funny in the moment I didn’t even think of it I was just so surprised. And I think because I was going so slow. I just threw it into park and it stopped right away.

All betcha it stopped right away......I remember the first ride in the Ole Hotrod I had Margaret with me and we were just accelerating fairly low speed and the darn thing was revving and wasn't shifting into third (its a pussy automatic I know...:D) and I thought it was in 2nd gear and nudged the shifter forward. Well it was in drive and with no safety neutral it went right up into reverse or park and didn't we just stop real abruptly......I then knew what happened pulled the shifter back after we replanted ourselves back in place...Damn will never forget that...

It was actually the Modulator Valve not hooked up...The harder you drove the better it shifted and it did shift very late...

Glad all is in one piece...so you just fixed the old one. Defective clip it was?

it would have seriously wrecked my year if things would have ended up worse. Just goes to show you can never be too careful. I was purposely driving the car slow the whole time as well. One of my buddies is like just get in and do a big burnout... um no! Maybe if you don't care about your stuff and didn't spend the time and money building the car you always wanted! Not this guy!

Yes rod has been repaired and ensured that it can't fail again the way it did. Installed a parachute on the back of the car and i have quick removable floor boards so i can pull a Fred Flintstone if ever needed... :)

Tried my hand at fabbing up a simple nerf bar for the coupe. Have looked at lots of different looks online and have always liked them. Just wanted something simple. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Fitness I like the profile of what you have done for the rear nerf/bumper but I feel it is undersize...

    100_3772.jpg

Here is Jeff Norwell's pickup with a weight that would be more proportionate to your Itchen & Bitchen to be Driven Hotrod.

Profile wise no problemo...just weight wise...what diameter it is I'm not sure...

What size did you use is that 3/4"dia?

Your thoughts other than wanting to beat me with the old one are?

Is this the thread you did your research on below?...it's a pretty darn good one...

It’s a funny thing for sure. I have looked at a ton of pics online of different designs and sizes. Looking at the pics some more they do make the bar look smaller than it does in person. I wanted something but something a little understated. There was a similar design that I saw a pic of but with a slightly different mounting bar pattern that I might build. I built this one in an hour so not like I’ve got a ton of time in it.

I have to agree with @Stogy, the design is fine, but it needs to be a larger diameter. My 2cts

Have a look at that thread started by the boss, is has some genuine quality bars...bar none...now as for dia. perhaps some of the posters in that thread have build threads where you can glean out a size...keep up the good work...

Here's Jeff Norwell's A Coupe...less complex but similar style closer to you're bar and note you do have a low plate...

Chris Casny's Coupe...very similar style but you would have to be lower due to your plate..
and as long as its behind or protruding aft of the body it still protects.

@Fitnessguy I modded this pic to lower the bumper and plate similar to yours...looks pretty darn spiffy to me...;)

Yes this was the coupe that inspired my design. Really like the overall all look. I prefer the round “anchor” bar design over what I did. Like I said I built mine quick to play with the idea. I have a loooong winter to tweak it as I patiently wait to get back in the coupe!! Ha ha

None of the above. Busy at work, no snow as of yet as we are getting nice weather and the coupe is up on jack stands for the winter. Discovered a leaky rear brake cylinder on the drivers side the day I had scheduled for the inspection. Looks like it was leaking at the bleeder. I hadn’t replaced the two rear cylinders from when I got the car and that’s what bit me. New ones will go on this winter and will be all ready for spring.
