    Thanks for the interesting photo of Troy Ruttman, Rootie!

    I have to wonder if this is being done a day or so after Ruttman won the 500. Towing the race car behind the truck with the movie camera crew is a little different. This footage might show up somewhere in an old manufacturer's film of the race. Back then it was the various automotive accessory firms that made promotional racing films.

    LSR tires are very thin and made of Unobtainiem. The tire overlay is to protect the tire surface while on the trailer traveling to Wendover.

    post above #167572 -R&R Cyclone Overhead Valves - I never head of - but, Robert Roof designed/built many motor upgrades -1931 the "Cyclone" F Head and the "RCO Flash " SOHC for the model A and B Ford were introduced. Roof mounted Cyclone head on '29 roadster - over 2 1/2 mile course in Anderson, In - car did 100mph against the wind & 101 with the wind
