OH Yea! My wife and I are looking forward to another cruise through the country down there by St Louis again this year. It is some really pretty country there, and cruising with a bunch of other car crazy people is always fun. Its a great way to wrap up a fun cruising season. Gene

Yep! That’s the plan. Both kids can’t go through due to other stuff they have. I’m bummed about that. I officially have a teenager tomorrow.

My wife and I will be leaving here Friday morning. Our motel is only a few miles away from the starting point, and we will be heading home on Sunday morning. Map Quest says its 344 miles from our driveway to the motel for the route we will be taking. Of the 344 miles, only about 80 will be on the Interstate. it really is all about the drive. Gene

Thank you. Yea, different wheels/tires are kinda like having a whole new truck.

  21. I'll try and get some posted later this week. Traveling for work and not able to easily do that from my phone.

I thought about my camera about 100 miles from home, it was sitting by my computer. Taking pictures with my flip phone would probably be pretty useless.

We had a good time. I really like that ride through all the beautiful landscape. There is some really pretty country down there.

The ride down was pretty much filled with rain, the the Hot Rod 100 was dry. We finally saw a little sun shine about 1/2 way home, but it was pretty short lived.

MMM1683, The picture in my Avatar was taken in 2016 on the way through the Rocky Mountain National Park. We went there just after Memorial Day, and they had just opened up the road through the mountain pass. Where they cut through the snow drifts with the big snowblower on the Oshkosh truck, the snow walls were still perfectly straight. It was a pretty cool adventure.

We are already looking forward to the WI Hot Rod 100. Gene

Anyone have the final count on how many Cars were on the Run?

  24. Here's a few shots from the run.

  25. I believe that there were a total of 166 cars registered. I don't know if we had the typical 10%, or so, that were no shows, but I'd say there were definitely a good 150 that participated in the run. I don't know if Clay @cvstl has counted the "no show" registration bags or not.

BTW...all I have to upload are the photos that I took with my phone. There's TONS more photos floating around the FacePlace, and I've been tagged on several photo albums there, so if you find me, you should find the photos. Dennis Parks captured some killer shots this year.

  28. Clay was smart and got some photos at the parking lot where we ended our run. He also slid a couple of additional photos from another Sunday morning gathering. One of those is when I told Jerry to open the hood of his '39, to show off the blown hemi that recently found it's way back into the coupe.

Here are some shots towards the end of the run.
