    I definitely agree.
FYI, the hood center is welded up, side trim shortened, and the wheel covers are '40 LaSalle.
Steering wheel is Lincoln Zephyr, and the motor is a bone stock flat head.

  11. Until now I had never noticed the gas door on the Ford retractibles.. obviously necessary. Are the tanks altogether different than the other models, or is it just in a different location?

Anyhoo, great pics as usual fellas!

    Dave

p.s. It's nice to see one that hasn't "broken" half way up! lol.

  12. Different tank AND different location.

  15. I'd hate to go through that much time and trouble in that paint job for someone to call it a stocker. Just say'in.

The wild paint layout almost makes this one look sectioned.

Been off the H.A.M.B. for a while, still working out some bugs on my mild custom. IMG_0746.JPG

Very nice , 59FORD. I love the Stude wheel covers.
Also, there are many nice photos (mild and not-so) at your link.
How about posting some more up; both here, and the "Kustom Blues" thread?
(I'd particularly like to see your Avatar Ford. ;))

I thought I'd try to compile a few truly original mild "Custom" cars in this post.

The "Golden Galleon" is my inspiration.

Some time ago I posted suggestion for a nice 50’s style interior. This was my idea of what I remember. IMG_0646.JPG IMG_1805.JPG IMG_0640.JPG IMG_1806.JPG thought I’d throw in a shot of my Lincoln taillight frenched in. Any body looking for Craftmanship, K. Zikeli is the man in Elwood City, Pa. pm me for info.

Yes it was, all I had done was to refine and straighten out all that was there. The headlights had to be redone and the rounding of the hood corners, but the rest was basic restoration. I didn’t build this car, but I tried to find the best people I could to transfer what was in my head to reality. There’s a lot of talented people out there. It was one heck of a Project. Thank for the compliment @ Mo. A lot of the stuff you post is gorgeous. Thank you Sir.

That tree must weigh a ton... looks like you've bottomed out! :D (Looks more like Carnival than Christmas.)
I zoomed in for a closer look at that grille.
It would be hard to find a finer Fifty-nine!
    Thanx for posting.

My next thought was... Anything Joe Bailon.
(Bailon was known for his one of a kind custom grille work.)

Joe was once quoted as saying the Sonny Morris Merc was his favorite build.
A little more than mild (Hey? Bailon!)...note the radical hood line.
How about those bumpers? (This is 1956!)

Even less mild, but Bailon to the max!
    John Gomez' '57 Chevy.

Joe was a favorite with the "Satan's Angels" Car Club. I should be able to find some fine old Chevies.
    Stay tuned.
