Hot Rods 1933 3-window coupe Barn Find in Central California...

  1. I stopped by Baskin's Upholstery the other day and Dick shared a little more about the '33 Coupe.
"The coupe has a '34 for front end- most likely it was wrecked sometime between 1940 and 1960 because the right front frame horn is bent. During the 40's and 50's our shop sold a lot of accessories, some of which were solid hood panels. They came with or without handles. I can remember selling our first two pairs, 1 pair of '32 ford and 1pa aair of '34 ford for $15 dollars a pair. I think these are '36 Pontiac hood pieces attached to the solid panels. The tail lights are '39 Plymouth and I am not sure of the license plate light, but I think it is off a firaham. As far as the car sitting off McKinley Ave...that is true. It was chained to a tree and then later on befmoved it to the back patio of the house. Chris covered it up and it was history for many years. You could be within 6" of the car and never know it was there. We had to remove several cars that were blocking the '33 coupe before we coupe get it out. All of the cars were buried in stuff. My plans for the car is to do a mechanical resoration and drive it around, no billet, etc."

eeerrr you'll excuse me for saying this if I'm wrong, but I believe the tail lights are '39 Ford, not Plymouth.
