Spent the morning taking a friend in for cardiac MRI.

OT truck burned a full quart of oil in 80 mile round trip.

Measured for my hodge podge power train in the 49 B1b. Not sure how the 49 stomp starter, bellhousing/crossmember will work on the 57 engine and 92 transmission. Might have to reactivate on the Pilot House forum. 218 flywheel on a 230 crank doesn’t let the starter properly engage.

  2. I've got them now on my head and it is NOT fun at all. Wish I had gotten a shingles shot so maybe it wouldn't have happened or at least it would not be so bad.

  3. Yeah, I put that shot off too. I hope you are seeing a doc if its on your head. If they get into your eye it can blind you, got to be careful.

  5. Yup, it's dangerous to your vision. Both the doctor and the eye doctor are keeping me full of meds and watching /checking for any new problems. Thanks for your concern Don as it's much appreciated.

I finished assembling the Corvair engine, and got it back in the car. And went for a drive. It's quieter now.

  8. Thanks Guys for the notes of reassurance. I had to go back to the ER today, but at least it has everyone in motion. No waiting, they ran me right in and took excellent care of me.
I guess my lesson is, just because a person has two rare disorders, there is no reason that you can't get a third.
I get a lot of encouragement by watching the progress of the accomplishments other members are making.

  9. Went to put a couple pieces together; only two of the nine fastener holes lined up. Elongated four that had to match the anchors in the rear panel; but I still had to drill out one hole for the inner panel, even after removing the D nuts.

About ready to change a carb spacer on one of my cars,I bought one of those plastic spacers for my truck but it has a exhaust port for the EGR that I think will melt the spacer so I am taking the aluminum spacer off my custom 500 since that intake does not have that exhaust port and installing the plastic spacer on it and my truck will get the aluminum spacer.

Somebody else must've gotten something done today. I got the front axle out of my F100 and taken apart so i can get it dropped. Tony Llama supervised. What did you do? 20181007_151111.jpg 20181007_131522_HDR.jpg

Aluminum heads off the new broke 455 going on the old tried and true 430. Hoping for some low elevens. Old setup went 11.70's/11.80's. New heads probably flow about 80 cfm more than the old ones. Who knows, just as long as I can go have some fun. Been a long year.

  19. I've had a few of those, takes a long time to get through.
I sanded the filler on the firewall today, now my back is shot 20181008_174354.jpg 20181008_174416.jpg

Adjusted the valves on my buddy Butch's 41 willys , pulled the blower and retorqued the intake in preparation for Ca Hot Rod reunion. Changed the oil and checked out my daily driver 56 PU for the drive to Bakersfield. And last but not least fired up a cool little 289 on the test stand for my buddy Marks 32 3 window. It was a good day:D

Got the 48 front axle more or less in place after I stretched the side rails
    on the Model
    A frame and
built a new front crossmember. Now I can move to the back end and locate the rear axle.

It was cold and clear this morning so I drove the '58 to a swap meet. The snow started about the time I got there so I walked the swap and headed home...

  25. I am supposed to take it easy, so I removed two tires with minor bead leaks, cleaned and painted the rims, and reinstalled the tires. This caused me to catch holy crap from my wife and son because I am supposed to be on useless duties.. At least I felt that I accomplished something.

Finished installing the new/old engine (old 430 w/ new aluminum heads) IMG_20181011_183037548.jpg and new converter in the stude. Never had a serious converter in this car, until now..... Brake stalled to 3200 in the driveway. Might not mph worth a crap, but I bet the launch is gonna be a hoot.
