    I think that,s Lee Wallard the 1951 Winner the car was Tony Bettenhausen's full season ride but he wanted a more traditional and powerful car for Indy he drove the #5 Deidt-Offenhauser and finished 9th the end of the race had only 8 cars on track. I think Tony raced this car to the national championship in 51 so the car had a great year with 2 drivers..

    That is the shifter hump for a 4 speed.

    I didn't use this one because I didn't want to emphasise that these were troubled times. It looks like there is a 300E van as part of the fire fighters team vehicles.

    Those humps with the round hole are actually auto trans humps for the first gen Novas.
    I put one in my 67 Nova (gen 2) when I converted my car to a 4 speed, it worked ok but I eventually found the correct one, they have a rectangular opening.
    The first year for Novas with the 4 speed option was 1964 (model year), those early conversion cars were done in 62/63 before Chevy made all the Nova specific V8 and 4 speed parts.

  18. I finally reached the end ! (As of now). I'm thankful for two things, first photography, and second automobiles. Thanks to all that have contributed to this thread.
