Probably the closest he's had to "traditional", but if you look in the dictionary under "car guy" you'll see Sammy Hagar's picture. The boy's had a few......

  7. Thank you sir. HRP

  8. There is no substantiated proof Clyde Barrow did not write the letter although some think it may have been Bonnie Parkers hand writing to Henry Ford dated April 10, 1934 and received by Henry Ford on April 13, 1934.

One month after the mailing of the reputed Clyde Barrow letter to Henry Ford, a quirky repetition occurred when the Ford Motor Company announced it had received the following letter dated 16 May 1934 and postmarked from Detroit:

    "
Hello Old Pal. Arrived here at 10:00 AM today. Would like to drop in and see you. You have a wonderful car. Been driving it for weeks. It’s a treat to drive one. Your slogan should be, drive a Ford and watch the other cars fall behind you. I can make any other car take a Ford’s dust"

    Bye-bye,
    John Dillinger

Unlike the Barrow letter, this letter was conclusively demonstrated to be a forgery when it was compared with earlier samples of Dillinger’s handwriting.

Mitchell's 1959. (Yes, they both were used as his personal car.)

I don't think McCartney actually owned this Anglia / Pop. It was used in one of his music videos and then given away in some sort of contest. The two women that won it did not want it and sold it.

I like this thread but it is easy to list the rich people of the world that bought cars with the fortunes (their are "legions" of them). The cool posts on here are the guys that owned the cars before they were rich (those are the "legends"). Love the Clint Eastwood shot. Good thread HRP.

It's always nice to see a celeb's car collection that isn't primarily Jeeps, Lambos, escalades, and Bentleys

That is not Dee, that is Bob Hooper from Portland, Or. and that 36 is an all steel car. I have the HRM feature on this car.

Dee built the car in 1958. No implication as other than steel.
The HRM article was 1959, and for a time the car was referred to as the Wescott/Hooper roadster.

The car still exists today, as the Dee Wescott roadster.

Dee restyled many cars for others (as proprietor of Wescott's Auto Restyling), including Chuck Traaen's Caddy-topped '49 Merc (which also still exists).
