Technical Flathead - what is supposed to be in here

I’ve just bought this running 8BA and am new to the flatty experience. I was wondering what was missing from this hole in the intake about the thermostat housing opening? I though perhaps an oil filler but given the breather next to it,that doesn’t seem necessary. Thanks

 

That's where the draft tube goes. It routes fumes down the front of the engine and
Bends to go along the pan.
It is a two piece tube with a bracket.
You'll need to hunt for one because are not reproduced.

You could, if you were so inclined, install a PCV valve in that location and plumb it into the intake.
