What would be a good transmission to run with a small block 6 duece setup

You running all 6 carbs, or are a bunch blocked off? In any case, my vote is a manual. An auto like a 700r4 that needs precise throttle cable control can be an issue getting the linkage to work depending if you are running progressive or straight. You want to keep as strong of a vac signal as you can through the carbs to get them to meter correctly.

I ran a 6 deuce setup on a 327 with a turbo 350 for a while. I blocked off the 2 center carbs and ran the other 4. The problem I had was that it wouldn't shift due to lack of vacuum. I solved that by shifting it manually and holding it in each gear until it got up around 3500 rpm. That was fun for a while but eventually got to be a pain. Bottom line; these multi carb setups work best with a stick shift.
