Thanks! Although I may need to rethink the running board brackets as mounts. They’re a bit flimsy Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Last night I took a drive out to my buddy’s place, he is the local AV8 guru. Fan clearance is a huge issue with my car and I dont want to use an electric fan so I went to him for some Ideas. He let me borrow a spare powergen and showed me this method which gave me plenty of space. I flipped the fan bracket backwards and cut some of the lower generator bracket off to allow the fan bracket to slide into the pocket. His powergen has two aluminum pulleys from speedway mated together to run the fan.
I ordered all the parts I need to fire this motor up. After that its just a matter of running brake lines Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Love the headers. Will you use baffles for the street or just out run the cops when they respond to the noise complaints?
Thanks guys, this is just my “race” set for TROG and other similar events. Ill build a full length street set later on down the road when I make it street legal but these were cheap and quick. Still wont be nearly as loud as my old SBC with megaphone lake headers! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
all thats left to do now is run a fuel line back to the tank and brake lines then Ill be able to take this little hotrod for a spin Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Today was a great day! I threw a party at the shop and Invited a couple clubs Im friends with. I was originally going to crank the motor up with a water bottle so everyone could hear it run but they insisted on running the fuel lines instead. We then got the motor fired up and idling great so my friends threw me in the cockpit and said take off! I still dont have throttle linkage or brakes but that didnt stop us...
