So, I am sending the seats from Mama's 55 out to get recovered. I have been looking at interior vinyl and wondering what the standard is for UV protection, hour wise? I have a fabric that matches and it says 300 hours. I'm not sure if that is standard or below since I don't know where the bar is set. I read on a boat site that 500 is what is recommended for boats, but they are in the direct sunlight etc. The seats in the 55 are great but the color is faded. Red is bad about that. Just don't want to have to do this again, anytime soon.
I used a marine grade vinyl that the local upholstery supply house refereed to as Navigator. Not sure of the manufacturer, could get it if you want. Did my roadster 18 years ago and it shows no sign of deterioration. I would expect that any good quality marine grade vinyl would be suitable.
