Well here is the box. The top I added last week. Dad had to buy this cabinet in the late 60's. I wasn't in school yet but old enough to remember when he bought it. I was born in 1963. He engraved his name in all the tools. Even every socket. I have a great amount of respect for Dad. And its been tough without him here. The red and grey chests are very well made! Glad to see that your dad is part of the build still even if he is not physically present. Does the chest have friction slides or roller slides? It has the roller slides. And they still function as new. Not sure why they ever dropped the rollers for those cheap slides. I even have the key to lock it up. So sorry about your Mom as well... Getting back to your Plymouth build will be good therapy to cope with your losses. New grille was an excellent choice and like Glenn@AHotRod said, use the hood when needed. Shouldn't hide any HEMI unless it's really necessary - like on a rainy day. Besides, have not run a hood on mine from any day she was hitting the streets from all those years of ownership... Screams more HOT ROD without the hood!
Today I took my hood apart. It had been welded up where the hinge used to be. I realised It didn't line up well so I cut it apart and started over. I mocked it up putting a new piece of steel in the center. I then applied some fiberglass for added strength to the welded area. Lines up pretty good now even though its a solid hood with no hinge. Due to the height of my air cleaner I don't have clearance for a good stock hood anyway. The bracing underneath would hang too low. This one will have to do. Now for the hours of filling and sanding to straighten this beat up hood out. Its still nice just to be working on it again. Sent from my LGL84VL using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

While mine is a PB (different cowl and hood design as you undoubtedly know) I hope attached pics are helpful.
