Nice guy too. I met him at a few shows through out time with that car when I had my Willys, last time at the Willys Home Run. I had some trouble with Brother Mikes 39 sedan that I drove out and he helped me out.
    Sadkowski, Saduski something like that.

Racing days are done, too much time and money and not enough brain cells left to even make it run again, just a display piece for the few that even remember what the car is/was.

Steveo3377... I'm confused. You posted these pics below of a similar black 33 owned by Tom Slattery that was built into the light blue Malco car. From the markings on the black car, I assumed it was Franny Heatherman's car. But the pic you just posted of the 33 you're working on also appears to be Heatherman's car. Can you clarify what is what? Love your cars by the way. Both are awesome.

Yeah but the black car with the red belt line was built into light blue car. It has the same 77 A/G markings and lettering below it. That's what's confusing. Trying to figure out which was the old Heatherman car.

Stevo I am also confused, do you now own the Willy's in your avatar? If so for how long? Slattery's car has looked like that for at least 7 years that I know of, do you have any info on the Heatherman car? I have a friend who may have more info, I'll e-mail him.

image.jpg Sorry for confusion will post some pics. and history. They are 3 different coupes with same lettering, this is the real Franny Hetherman coupe body and nose mocked up after 40 years or so tucked away all apart.

  18. @steveo3377 has had kind of an obsession with the Hetherman Coupe ever since he could walk and talk. Just about every model 77 coupe he's had has been adorned with the 77 A/G. Hell I'm surprised he didn't letter up the stocker he had while he was caretaker. ;)

  19. 'The Heatherman Willys was sponsored by Gene's speed shop. Gene was Steve O'neil's uncle. The Heatherman Willys sat outside for many years, the chassis was scrapped, and a lot of the original sheet metal was traded away to Steve Dniele from Connecticut for fiberglass pieces. I, too, tried to get the Heatherman Willys over the years, but to no avail. I am happy to say that the Willys has the right home now.

Thanks Nick, I tried Steve Daneiele to see where parts went he had no memory of that deal? Another rumor was that Bob Ida had the parts which was also a dead end. Tom Wolford was another lead that was a dead end. I think coupe was taken apart in late 70's and that is when sheet metal went away, that was a long time ago! When I first saw remains of car in 80-81 it was completely gutted.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Car in arvatar I have owned since 91.it was originally the Kalinowski and Trautz car that raced in 60's. When my good buddy Franny Hetherman passed in 07 I had his old lettering put on my coupe as a tribute to him. His original 33 he raced from 67- early 70's sparked the Willys interest. I always liked the look of his coupe, very nasty ride

The black 33 with red belt line paint was a replica of Franny Hetherman's 33 that I did not finish and sold to Tom Slattery. I brought that car back from Cali. in 1999 image.jpg

Hey Steve... Remember this? Old Mid America Willys Club Gasser Gossip. I saw in an older post from earlier this year, you said it may be in Oklahoma. I wonder if it still looks about the same? I'd like to see a bigger version of that 2nd pic if you have it. The one with the Cragar SS's on the rear. SteveO33.jpg

  25. Another photo from tonight, you can see a rust hole right in front of rear fender, real steel starting to show it's age

Steve, I've been going through some old Willys and Gasser Wars mags, and I found another old article that mentions you. Do you have any color pics of the car mentioned in this article? Man, you've had some great 33s over the years. SteveO2.jpg SteveO3.jpg

So is this black coupe with the pinkish/purple belt line the same car as in the article above? 42308472_2256131207952144_6438540054154444800_n.jpg 42275852_2256131217952143_8781086380705972224_n.jpg
