Is there a problem with using a brass wire mesh fuel sock (strainer) on the pickup tube in a gas tank? Issues with static spark or anything? I was planing on using a stock plastic GM sock, but i'm concerned about it falling apart. Found a VW brass mesh tube that fits the 3/8 pickup line. VW used it for decades, so i'm assuming there's no issue. But I want to make sure i'm not missing something obvious here, before I drop the tank again.
For a fire or explosion you must have air that part is missing at the sock. How any million cars are running around with electric pumps in the tank. Actually gasoline is a conductor like water and would bleed off electricity and not allow it to build a spark in a steel tank
^^^^^timely dig! Nicely played. Heard the CEO got 15 years for his role... Of course he said it was 25.
