    If you see in the first few pictures, the body was just red oxide primer. With its surface rust, dents n dings.

    I was content with that for the time being. It will get painted this winter

    I sanded the body with 400, then 600. The bare metal came through in a few places. The took some rattle can Gloss Black and applied to 90% of the body. After that, 800, 1500, then 2000 grit. Wet sand and polish out

    There is no clear coat. So in time the bare metal will surface rust. And that’s fine.

    I guess I was shooting for a look that the car was factory black, had taken its toll of paint rubbed off and body damage over 90 years of life.

    As for now, the frame is scotch brite pad and WD40
