...I agree. I changed out the shifter ball a few months ago. I found the bars in the late 80's/early 90's they were unmarked. They sat in my parents garage, then my garage for 20 or so years until I started this car. I think they were set up for a Chevelle, so I modified them to work. They barely fit with the 58" rear I recently installed. IMG_5593.JPG
...the red, now faded to orange interior will go someday.....

I really dig your 55, but looking closer I'm thinking I was wrong on the wheels, I said Supremes but they look more like polished American five spokes.

That's just right, has that light yellow tinge from age.
My second car in high school (1971) was a 57 BelAir 2 door hardtop, the first thing I did was swap the Fenton shifted 3 speed for a B/W T-10 with a new Hurst "C" shifter.

  13. Gramps' driver about '65 or so in front of the local high school my grandmother went to. His friend from back in the day owned it up until recent. Unfortunately, now it's pale yellow and lame.

Just wish I had a photo of his first car. '56 2-door hardtop with a 340hp 327 and 4-speed out of a wrecked Corvette. 4.56 posi. Think it was Adobe Beige and Sierra Gold.

Absolutely perfect. Always like 57s with the front bumper missing. Anyone remember that early picture of the Grateful Dead on the street corner with a 57 without the front bumper parked in the background?

I thought I posted this here, (I looked), I know I have on other related threads and I'm sure some of you know that I like 57 Chevy 150's.
Not mine but it is my house.
Many years ago this car showed up in front of my house, not a visitor either.
This was around the year 2000, I had seen this 57 driving down the road a few times but never saw it parked, thought it was a nice original one but up close I saw it really was in great shape, inside and out and not just the typical little old lady car you hear about as every time I saw it an older woman was driving it.
There it was as I got home from work, I ran in and got my camera, after I took this photo I ran back into the house for??? maybe I wet myself I dont remember, I came back out two minutes later and it was gone, never ever saw the car again.
I'm a pretty devout hot rodder but I'm not sure I could have cut it up even if I owned it.

The 150 is not a business coupe, the rear window is rolled down indicating it also has a back seat. True biz coupes had the rear windows fixed in place.
    Great M/P candidate!
Used to be commonplace to see tri 5s like that in yards & driveways.

1957 283 carter 4 barrel bone stock. It’s actually my wife’s car. I gave it to her as a wedding gift. This photo made the 4 door look small.

  27. Sorry, just spewing '57 factoids.

  28. My ole wagon I fixed just like I would of if I had owned it in the 60,s. Rearend out now and needs a bit more bondo and a fresh coat of rattle can black primer. Its a 150. no trim around windshield. And you would be surprised how many experts call it a Nomad. I don't bother to try and educate them. 55 chevy wagon 003.JPG
