after a one year hiatus, it's back. sept 23rd noon-4:00pm here's a thread about the last one held in 2016 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/jungle-park-reunion-2016.1035806/
This is a great show for those interested in old racing iron. The last show included a bunch of traditional hot rods from the Indy area. I'm bringing this T based 88 inch dirt car which would probably been the hot ticket in '28 or '29. It's powered by a Gregg supercharged SR Frontenac single overhead cam, full pressure Model T engine. It sports a Frontenac oil pan that allows mating a '28 ford trans and multi disc clutch to the T block. Fuel is fed through a 2 inch Winfield barrel carb and the eight sparkplugs on this 4 cylinder engine are fired by a Bosch twin spark mag--cool shit. It's a small show but petty cool,I hope some of you can come.
i know this was heavily advertised around indy in 2016 to coincide with the plaque laying ceremony. i'm not sure about this year. cass, maybe it's a good idea you won't be bringing the hillclimb car. it might scare those guys in newport when you fire it up. jim responded to my pm by saying, "we'll be there."
Man i am really wanting to be there, but am in Tenn looking after my goofy brother.....Is Steve gonna take anything down there?
steve's going. i can't imagine him not taking anything down there. the new boyle maserati would look pretty good on the back of that diamond T where it belongs.
It was great weather at the reunion and many fine old race cars were on display. They also had special parking for the hot rods. Thanks to "silent rick" for posting the date of the Jungle Park Reunion in advance. Here are just a few more shots of the event.
slipped my mind about the date, was at Eldora of the weekend or I would have made it. sorry I missed you guys cass!
