Johnny what happen, your shoe box break open! I'm never going to get any work done if you keep posting these pictures. I know I'll just blame you, like I do with my pizza guy, blame him for me getting fat. Any of you guys ever have an Affogato?

Great pictures Johnny Steel. I spent some time at Connecticut Dragway so those pictures brought back many memories, thanks again for the time spent posting them.

I agree with Pat I am not getting much work done with Johnny posting all of these Vintage Memories for us to view.

See things like the Hollywood Rod Shop painted on the side of the car is just to cool for words.

Hey, Jimmy. I bought your 57 front bench seat. Top Cat was campaigned by the Warren- Register team (Bobby Warren and Howard Register) I believe I have seen a color pic and it was Black, unless I am mis-remembering.

Chuck Norton......Have you heard any rumors of NHRA changing Stock and Super Stock to classes and rules similar to the NMCA rules like Nostalgia S/S and Nostalgia Muscle car since Danny Gracia is retiring from NHRA after this season or is it just BS ? Maybe due to the lack of tech this past year ? There was a rumor on Class Racer about it but Ken Miele (sp ?) removed the post as he is so close to NHRA !

    Terry,

I don't know any more about it than you do. I spoke with the original author of that post and he couldn't shed any more light on the topic. Everything is conjecture at this point.

On a personal level, the absence of regular, diligent, and thorough inspection of competitors does not bode well for Stock as we've known it for the last fifty or sixty years. I entered the game because of the structure and integrity of the rules. Without them, it's nothing more that Street Outlaws and checkbooks. I wouldn't be inclined to continue under the present system. Glad I escaped when I did.

OK....Thanks. The whole NHRA deal is starting to suck over the last couple of years. I'm glad I stopped working on my 1979 Corvette project before I was buried in it. If I hear anything more I will let you know if you are interested ? Take care and have a great day, week, month, and many years to come.

At the NED bracket finals at Atco. My 57 Chevy Jr Stock tribute car heading into the finish against the 60 Chevy wagon. Although not a Jr Stock event it could remind us of days gone by when these cars were the norm. If this offends anyone as possibly OT then I'll delete it. Ignore the hole in the hood of the wagon. NO DON'T delete it. Its looks great. The hole in the hood of the wagon is almost not noticeable. That picture sure brings back memories !

Fabulous Hudson Jet was Matty Winspurs car, he is currently restoring the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Both cars raced at Dover in the day.
