How's come I missed your build? It was a pleasure to meet you Saturday and see your car. Great work, has me even more fired up to get mine in color and assembled!
Well the car was supposed to go to the eyes on design show....but I just haven't had time to get it running. So new plan. Not going to bring it out anymore in primer going to tear it apart and finish it right. I did get a chance to mock up the top. I like it!
Here's my taillight stands. Wiring will be internal. They'll be plated......and nobody will ever see them
Nice, I'd fuss with fitting some countersunk stainless slotted screws that match the contour of the brackets. Standing too tall after they are plated would be a regret. Anytime you can't see wiring is a good time. Bob
37 kid.....yea the Phillips is temporary. And since the pic was taken the holes have been countersunk more. Screws will be domed a little more than the rest
That is a nice car. There is a fresh 32 roadster down here in a similar colour with wires rather than you steelies. Very subtle.
I would submit that this is one of the most beautiful cars ever built on the HAMB. Everything seems to enhance the already classic lines of Ford's best design effort. Just stunning!
Clark I know this is an older thread and I’ve read the hole thing hoping you would mention where you got the hub caps. If good originals or a reproduction. I’ve been looking for caps for my air wheels for years. I have seven or so but none good enough to run. It’s fall of 18 hope your back on the roadster it’s a killer.
36fred....sorry, I just got lucky finding good caps. I've been collecting them for almost 20 years now. I have one NOS and some no name caps. But the only full set of good ones are on my car. Unfortunately it went to a friends for storage. Gonna be a bit before I can get back to it. But it's in good company
I am so glad you were able to hold on to this. Its YOUR car, always will be. Work on it when you have time or money, or both. A brilliant car. Cheers, Stewart.
My car is not totally forgotten. I bought a really nice 292 from a local street rodder. Motor has less than 500 miles and full of Mummert parts. Wasnt planning on 2x4s but think i need a little more than 2x2s on this thing. Started making an air cleaner out of an old oil bath. Got a lot to do to it ...but I'm liking it.
