Check Craig's list for a 235. I put a 235 wanted ad on CL and scored a low mileage rebuilt 235 with Redline cam, headers, Offy finned covers, a T5 5 speed trans, complete new exhaust system, etc., out of a show truck that the guy wanted to put a V8 in. $700 for the whole pile, and it sounds sweet!

Hey guys, the original request for help was 3.5 years ago, so it's probably resolved by now. And Charleydodge's "235 that came out of a '60s era Nova" is probably not a 235.

How much would it cost if you outsource the entire rebuild?

Watch out for rebuilders, you sometimes get a sleeved block, cracked & patched head and or seriously undersize cranks. You know what you have if you do it yourself or have your motor done by a shop

  9. ...........Just for the record, he posted that almost 9 years ago and he hasn't been logged on here for almost 2 months. Might give a shot to sending him a PM in case he doesn't see this thread if and when he logs back on.:)

  11. I might use a good 235 in something when I get one. I wouldn't spend any serious money on one. Better to use a later 250 six. I know it a old thread

We are an hour south of St. Louis and are needing a head for our 59 Chevy Apache engine. We are having it rebuilt right now and the head it cracked
Has the head of the engine you have for sake been checked ?

Anyone reading this old thread should do a HAMB search of PATRICKS before doing business with them. Recent reviews have been pretty bad

  16. To me its simple spend big bucks on a inferior design and yes indeed you make more power. But you can of spent 1/2 as much on a better design and make more power. But you not alone folks spend plenty on Y blocks only to make less HP than a FE makes in stock condition. I don't think you mill makes any HP. It needs a oil pan and fuel pump first LOL
