Here is one I saw at a shop I just had some dealings with. A 1940 Darrin Edition. Not my type, but a very nice ride.

  9. Not custom but a little rare. Just picked this one up. 1953-54 Henney/Packard Jr. Ambulance. Only 500 made and it ruined the company. Fun to drive too!

Makes you wonder what happened to them when they weren't claimed later on.

There's a 41 on craigslist close to here that's been street rodded with a SBC running gear that I've been watching. Looks like it was nice at one time, kind of a luxo ride, but has ran down and needs paint and maybe some interior work. Have been thinking about calling about it, but too many irons in the fire and not enough time or money for another right now.

  17. Here's one rarely seen....

    packard_request_concept_car_2.jpg

The Packard Request, a one-off show car built in '55. Many Packard owners lamented the loss of the iconic pre-war vertical Packard grill, so Dick Teague designed this restyle. This car still exists, it was found in a field and restored, with the owner having to have all the special parts re-cast.

    Agreed.
Very nice refinement on the Packard DeLuxe rear grille theme.

Bit of trivia: Locating this piece was said to be the hardest part of Tom Philpot's Clarkaiser clone, "Arctic Gold".

Here is one styled after the Larry Ernst 1951 Chevy second version.
