    Gary, We subbed out the wiring and plumbing, and it didn't get done. We will be good and ready for next year, starting at El Mirage. Now more Wayne Miller, and the 49'rs car club. 2012-08-31 182112 - Copy.jpg 2012-08-31 181638 - Copy.jpg

    That is Maurice Trintignant driving his Cooper Maserati Formula One car on the highway leading to Riverside Raceway. This was for the 1960 United States Grand Prix and most of the cars were kept in garages several miles from the track. Each day either the drivers themselves or a mechanic would drive the cars to the track and then back again in the evening. There are a couple of photos around showing several Formula One cars running together on the highway alongside passenger cars as their drivers head to work on their morning commute.
