    Don't need one.

    One can control both.

According to the late mister Barris the original had 10 carbs ,this car is a clone . MSD ignition did not exist when the original car was built in 1966. Know one thought of fake carbs back then

Simple linkage, made from a bent piece of metal, joining the secondary throttle shafts together, between the carbs.

I have seen it done, but never though it was novel enough to photograph.

The carburetor with the diaphragm had its primary to secondary linkage removed, and a metal bracket attached to it, with a small bolt and nut in the slot where the linkage was. That bracket, was u-shaped and went to the secondary bellcrank picked up the pin that the diaphram rod normally attaches to, and was fastened down by bolt, replacing the screw that normally holds that bellcrank on.

    Connect thos:

    To this:

And you have one diaphragm controlling four secondary barrels. The secondary linkage on the other carburetor then does double-duty.

Why did Holley use a larger Diaphram on 3 barrel carbs? If Holley felt they needed a bigger diaphram to control the larger butterfly of the 3 barrel Don't you think you would need one to properly actuate 4 butterflys? I know you will debate stuff to the bitter end .. but its not adding up for me.Crap just realized this is a fun threado_O

I didn't bring my calipers to measure the diaphragms. Frankly, I don't normally think to carry them everywhere.

No worries if this is not something that you have seen, or don't understand. It has been done, repeatedly, and on both US coasts, and on some very competitive cars.

I never thought anything of it. I makes perfect sense to me. As for pictures, you may as well have asked me to take a picture of something as pedestrian as a particular lug nut.

  16. This must have the Offy offset carb spacers to be able to clear the throttle shaft linkage, I'd like to see it with a distributor dropped in the hole because that was another interference point.
