70's cars with crash bumpers in pic...obviously post 73........
then there's the motor-homes pic....what's going on here????what happened to the pre-66 guideline and who wants to see tricky dick in a late 70's shot???
re-read the guidelines before you post..........i'm here for the OLD...no marker lites,no crash bumpers,no smog pumps,no camaros,etc....1966 or E,please.....
I'm not the thread police.......in fact,i disagree with the no motorcycles thing...but ,as i'm sitting here next to my pan,i accept it,as this is one fabulous and entertaining thread.....
BUT...we're looking at 6000 pages soon......i fear it may become topheavy...and a few years ago some may remember the great "purge" and it was like starting over.....
my two pennies.....now i'l shut up....

Very late 60's or more likely very early 1970's judging by the 1967 registered Rover 2000 in the background, probably taken on a May or more likely August bank Holiday weekend at an English coastal resort town, probably Brighton, Hastings or maybe Southend etc....and after a good heavy session in the pub the night before....... LOL!

The first shot shows Curtis Turner in Smokey Yunick's very different roadster at Indianapolis in 1963. He crashed and totaled the car. That's A.J. Foyt down low and it looks like he is just coming up to speed after coming out of the pits.

Although I'm not sure the second shot looks like one of the USAC Road Racing Championship races at Meadowdale. That's Rodger Ward in the midget and (I believe) Lloyd Ruby in Ebb Rose's #45 Maserati. And I think that's Augie Pabst in the Scarab coming up behind Ward. Am I warm on this one, Rootie?
