Just a BIG curiosity here; how is this car "insured"; standard policy, collector car, what? My Delivery has't been out of the garage in almost 3 years now, thanks to my wife having an at fault, expensive accident, that got our auto insurance of almost 20 years cancelled. Then, no one will pick up the Delivery, just our DD cars (???). She's never even been in the Delivery, let alone actually driven it (she can't/won't learn how, to drive a stick shift). Hagerty and Grundy both said NO! The insurance I managed to get for our DD cars won't insure the Delivery either; unless I buy a broad form policy for it, and that does absolutely nothing for the car. And, there's no way I'd ever divorce her (wife)!!! Blown Hemi, altered wheelbase, heavily modified car, being driven to "race tracks"; you know what I mean? Like I said, "curious". I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Jim, I'm planning on coming to Atlanta Dragway Monday for the start of actual racing for Drag Week. See you then.

Teak is for boats. TEAC is for good audio.

The Sony reel to reel tape deck was in the Corvair for the LeMons Rally...it was fun...David replaced it with a little amplifier, smaller speakers, and plugs it into his phone to listen to tunes.

No way there would be a sound system in the Barracuda. Ear plugs are more the thing.

Ready to roll in the morning.

You guys can call it what you want, I'm just calling it amazing. Timeline, and finished product. Big thumbs up from Kansas.

I even like your trailer! Lots of guys living vicariously through you. I see an NHRA tech sticker on your roll bar.

Jim, We are all amazed at the pace you kept once you got rolling. Furthermore, it's astonishing that you still had the time to help other members source parts, and find solutions to the problems they encounter with their projects. Good luck, and hang on when you hammer the throttle !

With all this spare time, you could be out in the shop making a hood! :D

  18. Well, he does have it on a trailer- no reason why Jim can't work on the hood while someone else drives :D

  19. I was wandering a junkyard yesterday; and every time I came across a Barracuda it made me stop and think of what you are accomplishing with your race car.

Safe travels to Atlanta and beyond and best of luck once the racing begins.
    Now the fun starts.

  21. Surprised that Hagerty won't pick up the coverage. I have an agreed-value policy with them on my Ford and good liability coverage (lesson learned with a significant injury from my 2011 accident). Through my DD broker, I have 3 other DD type cars with Progressive. They also carry Hagerty. The only concern they had was after I sent in pictures, my broker asked 4 times if that was a race engine in the car.
