Got this with a bunch of Pontiac parts & have not seen a shaft like this one, it is V shaped.
Any idea what it may be from? I doubt it is GM.
    Thanks for looking. P1011510.JPG P1011509.JPG P1011508.JPG

At first I thought it was a Mehoff, but after looking at it for a bit I think it’s a Schitt.

  4. I have a couple of those on a parts shelf.
I think one came with a 50 Stude, and I had a few 60s Ramblers come through too. maybe they bought from the same accessory company. I think a couple early or mid 50s Studes had them but I dono if they were stock.
I did have a few Chevys but I think they had the triangle shaped post.
dont quote me on any of this :)

    WHY BE ORDINARY ?

  5. Most if not all manufacturers outsources stuff like bumper jacks. The triangular shape post, base, and ratcheting mechanism is pretty much the same across different makes in the '50s and '60s, with the major difference being the piece that hooks onto the bumper.

Sold this to a guy who said '56 Stude. It went to India! It's always fun to see stuff find a good home 1/2 across the World.

Doesn't look extraordinary in particular to me. 50s, 60s, even 70s common fair...
The hook is what made most model/brand unique. Gotta be several million of 'em out there.
