I am trying to find comparable sizes of radial tires which would equal a 6:00 x 16" and a 7:00 x 16" bias ply tire that will eventually end up on my second set of 16" Kelsey wire wheels for my model A coupe. The fronts are stock width and the rears are now widened to 7". I am not concerned with the issues of the look being non traditional but what sizes to consider that would equal the same width and height. THE local tire guys don't want to take the time to cross reference what I have into a comparable radial size. Anyone out there versed in thr langusge of radial versus bias ply sizes? Thanks

There are some older threads that give some sizes, you’ll have to do a search. Some of the hybrids & electrics use a small low roll resistant tire 16 that is pretty small.

Most tire conversion charts I've seen recommend shorter height radials compared to the height of the original bias ply.

Most every major tire manufacture will publish, or list the dimensions of their tires. Although it may take a little digging to come up with the specifications.

Best to find the height of your current tires and then start researching radials to find what will be closest to what you have

The old bias tires are much narrower than any modern size radial with the same OD. I think they would cross to an 80 or 85 series tire that are just not available other than the 165R15.

Excelsior Stahl Sport radials come in bias ply sizes. no need for converting. Just sayin. They work awesome and look the part. H speed rated is a plus too. Spendy but worth it so far and I have 1600 miles on this set with road trips of 700 miles round trip at 80 mph

6.00 16 is between a 215/70 16 and a 225/75/16. 225/70's get a little wide for stock wire wheels and would be too big for the front. I run the 215's on the front of a couple cars and the 225's on the rear. On my '33 Plymouth hiboy I have 235/85/16's on the rear and the 215's on the front. I run the Dextero tires from walmart. You can order them online and ship to store. Many many sizes of them online at walmart.com Great tires IMHO. Oh, and they are cheap priced.

I put 225x70x16 on the rear (both same height when off old was 650 16 M/S) and I put 205X60 16 on front I think I could of want with a 205X70 16 and still cleared. They are on a 37 pickup
