Projects Is there a car or truck you dream about but eludes you?

I can now scratch that '50 Ford coupe of that list, I bought one on August 1, 2018. HRP

 

Any 1957-1960 F100 Stepside, 1953-54 Chevrolet car, or 57-60 Plymouth.

51 Chevy business coupe. White with a red interior like the 67 mustang I had as a teenager was. Sitting very, very low with a straight 6 that has way too much $ dumped into it and keep the hood off to display it. Lake pipes and red steel wheels. No chop. That would look cool parked next to my grandpas original 51 fleetline im lucky enough to own. I'm going to have to wait a few years but it's definitely on my list of things to accomplish and the H.A.M.B. is always an encouragement haha.

57 Rambler Rebel. Missed one several years ago even after asking the owner to let me know if he ever decided to sell it. Instead it went auction, I don't know why.

 

Diamond T model 201 pickup. As a working truck not lowered or hot rodded and kept all pretty.
Dont really care what the engine is, original, v8 or diesel as long as I can haul a load of gravel on the back, car parts, or any other supplies.

Never seen one in NZ yet so would need to bring it in from the states or something.

 

Does the '29AA project that I've been working on since 1974 but has still never run under its own, count?

 

Only two left on my list..34 3 window or 56-62 Vette , Both out of reach I'm afraid Funny thing was as a kid I had a 68 Z28 rs , a 69 Z28 and a 69 SS 396 375 hp Camaro. Oh yeah also a 70 Chevelle SS 396...All of which I'm not willing to go into debt to buy another one....

 

Well I ended up getting it, a 40 pickup, but now I think I don't want it anymore!

 

Mine is one that I had, but my dad made me get rid of it before I could even get past the planning stage, 26-27 T Tudor that I had intentions of building it tall and full fendered with a Pontiac Tempest 195ci 4 cyl with 4bbl carb and 4 speed that was sitting in the local salvage yard!

 

I'm happy with my projects, but really wish I could take the next step with all of them, you know, whatever $500. would do.

i guess i have gear head sickness as there are many that i want off topic as well as on topic. i guess the one i would like to have the most is a 61 impala, which is also the year i was born.

 

I usually have something I lust after but once I get it I get tired of it pretty fast. Once thought I needed to build a 32 Ford glass vicky. I have no idea what I was thinking. It was a Downs body on a TCI chassis, 350/350 combo, with Vintage Air. I wound up hating that car. It was a real PITA putting all your "stuff" in the back seat. Couldn't wait until I sold it. Actually it wasn't that bad a car. It became a Streetrodder Magazine featured car. The last owner totaled it. I didn't want to see it go that way. The latest thing I'm interested in is a 66 or 67 Nova.

1930 Packard is tops for me, just don't have that 5 digit to 6 digit funds laying around.
Cheaper end is a 1933 or 34 coupe 3 window salt flat style with heavy chop. Still a pricy build for sure.

I used to love duces, just the popularity of them, and the repop bodies makes em just not as special for some reason, made my love for the model A and 33-34 go through the roof, so thanks duce guys...

Always wanted a model a with a banger for many years, now I have one in a coupe. So I guess I chased a dream, and obtained it, but next for me will be the 33-34 platform before I get too decrepit to build.

 

I hate to say it,but I think I am done.Living on a budget and not having any extra money to play with anymore I have what I have.So I just build models and dream.

1933 Studebaker Land Cruiser

 

Since I became aware of them at about 5 years old I've wanted a Corvette midyear coupe. Hot rodded or course. 64-67. No split window for me!
Next would be a tri five Chevy Nomad, I had a 55 for years but it was beyond my skill set.
If i really wanted to I could buy one of those cars, but at this point I'm not sure it would be worth it to me.

 

At this point in my life I've managed to get just about every car I ever wanted of but there is one that got away that I still dream about. In 1959 my grandfather bought a new '59 Chevy Biscayne. He and my grandmother toured the country in it until they decided to come back to New York for good in 1967. My grandfather decided to buy a new Plymouth in '69 and the dealer allowed a 25.00 trade in on the Chevy. When Gramps picked up his new car the dealer told him to keep his old car and sell it outright. I was in Nam by then but I wrote home and told my father to buy the Chevy and save it for me. When I came home almost a year later, the Chevy was gone. Dad said he didn't want that old car in his yard for a year and he sold it to someone he worked with. I still think about that old car and would give about anything to have it today. It probably was melted down and made into Toyotas a long time ago but I still dream of finding it in a barn or garage someday. I'd pay a lot more than 25.00 to have it today!

I've always wanted to build a 33-34 Ford coupe, but with prices It's going to be only a dream

 

I've always wanted a chopped 32 3w. Luckily, this week I just bought one!!

 

Always liked 2 seater T-birds and 1st generation Corvettes with their removable fiberglass tops. Bought a wrecked Miata for its drivetrain for my '34 Austin Ruby and discovered everything was too big. Ended up fixing the Miata and now have a sporty 2 seater with a removable top by default. Love it when things like this work.

'61 Poncho bubble top and a '57 Vette. Those are at the top of the list but there are a host of others. I need to hit the lottery but God hasn't decided that I'm ready for the responsibility of that kind of money.

 

Studebaker didn't introduce the Land Cruiser until the 1934 model year. The blue car is a '35.

 

What I want is a '59 Pontiac Star Chief or Bonneville 4-door hardtop with the flat roof. One rough enough to convert to a 2-door would be a bonus. Nobody would realize GM never made any that way.

 

Yes. It's off topic, but in my opinion, it was a true "muscle car". I'll probably never own one and at my age, that would be a good thing.

 

I have always been a chevy guy, but in high school there was an older guy (20) who picked up his girlfriend in his cammed up y block 57 ford. The sound of that car stuck with me for the last 45 years.
