Vintage snap on tool chest mbc El dorado

    Hi I'm new to the site and just had a few questions as to the value but more importantly any information on the tool chest I have any help would be greatly appreciated

  2. It look to be a late 70's to mid 80's.
    Your best bet is to have your local Snap-On man looks at it.

    I have one too in good condition like that. I asked around and was told a couple hundred bucks, though you see others for sale closer to $1000. They seem to be for sale for a long time at those prices!

    It's a old MBC or Metal Box Company. They built tool boxes for years with other brand names on them. If you look at the bottom box below the bottom door there will be the information embossed on the frame.

    MBC did make boxes for Snap-On but you'd only see the Snap-On logo, no MBC.

    That said, if it's clean and everything works as it should, you could likely get $300 out of it, depending on your location.

    The new, entry level boxes are just above that price point and I think most folks go that way.
