    Hey 19,

Nice photo of the famous Tennessee Bo-Weevil. Even though we were Westcoast, So Cal locals growing up, every time we saw that name in the Drag News or in print, we liked what it represented. It was a hard charging, fast modified roadster.

Early this past year, I did a memorial tribute to this famous roadster. The background story for Ray Godman was inspiring. He is/was a legend in my mind and others, too.

Thanks for a nice photo image.

When I saw the sad news, I tried to do something different. So, I found actual sound of the Bo Weevil from a 1959 Detroit Nationals Championships and put it with the photos throughout his era in drag racing.

  6. Another seldom seen gem. Looks alone should have made the car a tenth faster than anything else at the track.

Not Famoso...the ground is way too nice, there's no giant pot holes in the asphalt, and large areas of no asphalt..!

totally love these early pictures -the era of drag racing I grew up in/with. I took this picture at Lodi Calif (Kingdon to locals ) 1961 of Warren Welsh's shoehorn,Reno Nevada running B/OG.(open gas) just prior to winning class against Glass slipper Sacramento Calif. this car could be twitchy becasue of shot wheelbase but with a straight run ,it was a bullet.

I only correct peoples' spelling when it might help others if they happen to want to Google something, definitely makes the search process go smoother.

If you have never been to Bowling Green in the summer "Boiling" is more appropriate.

Yes, I've been there in July/August, don't know how people can stand the constant heat/humidity.
I guess it's like SoCal people asking Oregonians how we put up with all the :mad:rain:mad:.

Was there the last three years.
Black is not the best color for a race car, down there or where I live. Summers are about the same.

    Great shots of your dragster!!
Are you still building those incredible scale models of your cars?
They are so realistic looking in every detail and I think you had one on display with the N.H.R.A. if my memory is correct.
