My collection of wall-hangers. This isn't all of them, and I no longer have that garage, but someday maybe I'll have them all displayed:

I loved my cone caps,my fav. was my 53 Studebakers with there gold dot and then these aftermarket cone's,ture there are a lot of sexy ones, but to me the cones were the best ! This is my "J" in a show around 1961 at Dinner key,Coconut Grove/Miami Fl.

I really don't think these had every been on wheels before. Each was still in a brown paper wrapper in the box!

This was the A-number one custom cap in my neighborhood youth. (East Coast, born 1950.)
    '59 Lancers were next.

Honestly, I was hoping this thread would turn me on to a hubcap I had never paid attention to. Something a little less expensive, if it gets lost or stolen. Looks like I may just have to bite the bullet.

  21. I have a set of those 55 Windsor caps, they changed the whole direction for my 51 chevy from early 60's sorta street racer to late 50's custom.

May I suggest the 1950 or '51 Imperial hubcaps? One has the center indent, one doesn't. Can be found for less than $50 each if you're patient. upload_2018-8-20_10-35-50.jpeg

    Re; 56/57 Lincoln caps.
I had a '56 Lincoln Premiere that had a wandering hubcap problem just on driver's side.
Seemed that a mere bump in the road/street and it would dismount by itself.
This happened a couple times and I'd just push it back on and give it a few whacks with a soft hammer, knowing it wasn't seated very well. It always "squirreled" around.
One time I was headed to a car show on a 4-lane and when that happened, I quickly turned off to a side street just in time to see the cap rolling on by, only to be run over by a service truck. I think the guy was intent on smashing because he didn't try to avoid it at all.
Got a replacement and yet that particular wheel just didn't hold the cap well.
Tried the duct tape trick, but that didn't work either.
As a last resort, I changed the wheel with the spare. No problems after that.
I can only assume the wheel was either not a Lincoln or perhaps a different year.
Altho' it looked the same, there must have been a diiference in the rim design.
Something to note when considering using the 56/57 Lincoln caps for your ride.

Just saw these on Instagram that HAMBer Chris Casny made for his 40 Merc -- pretty sexy if you ask me.

  26. I like odd stuff, so here's a few overlooked caps. Plus I like nondescript (no name, just insignia) type caps,
