Why is it always my backside that gets in all the pictures? The only time I was in print, I was standing in a group with our backs to the photographer and it was a two page lead in photo. Am I that ugly?
Thanks for the pics Laura. Those 2 guys with red hats must both be Italian- talking with their hands LOL Who is the guy with the 357 T-shirt?
Swifty , The tall guy in the red in Gene Barbee. He and "Ronnieroadster (found here on the hamb). Both wearing the "Red Hats" as they are both members of the prestigious 200 mph club. NaCifan
Thanks for that Nacifan. I know Ron and his crew as we hung out with them in Ct when we visited the US last year, just didn't know Gene. So we have two Red Hat roadster guys comparing notes. BTW do you know what drivetrain Gene runs and what speed he set?
Ron & company are great folks !! They (Gene and Alan Barbee both 200 mph clubbers) ran a variety of small block chevys from 302 cid to 358 cid to run in the D ,C, and B /STR (Street Roadster) classes. It is a Small Block Chevy, 4 speed, 28 spline 9" Rear. A very simple car that has been over 212 mph a few times. Bonneville, ElMirage and even Muroc Dry lake.A Street Roadster record holder at all of these places in years past. Swifty, Look closely at the 50th anniversary poster...... NaCifan
LOL! Next time you see me tell me who you are and I will take a full frontal picture of you ! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yes, pictures were taken at The Nugget Casino, West Wendover, Nevada... Thanks for all your nice comments! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks for the pics Nacifan. I gather you are close with Gene and Bob as the pic of the roadster minus engine looks to be in Gene's front yard. And I did look closely at the poster from 20 years ago and they were doing it then! Big thing for their roadster to be mixing with all the big $$ cars.
Hey Swifty, I'm closer than you can imagine. That's not Gene's front yard. it's, mine waaaay back east . More later if there is any interest. all the best, NaCifan
