  1. An old Tin Safeway truck. There was a safeway store in every town when I was a kid. Now I don't know if any still exist? 20170815_105156.jpg 20170815_105337.jpg

  3. ................They're still around, Ron. Not as many as in the past, but they're still in business.. 20170815_201859.jpg

  4. Love your Safeway Store diorama, Ron.:)............I spent over 31 years in those places.

  5. Don, I like your fleet of Safeway trucks. Were they sold at their stores? Here's one of my favorite truck body styles , 40 Fords. 20170613_080617.jpg 20170613_080918.jpg

  6. ..................Yeah, Ron, we used to always get them in the stores around the holidays.

  7. I also have this Safeway train in its' unopened box. It's just plastic. I must have picked this up in the 1990's at some point. 20180821_092205.jpg 20180821_092516.jpg 20180821_092504.jpg 20180821_092323.jpg

Thought I'd share a few of my old trucks. These all belonged to my father as a kid. My grandmother never threw anything away so alot of these survived. The dump bed on the ol Structo still works too. 20180917_203538.jpeg 20180917_203607.jpeg 20180917_203323.jpeg 20180917_204107.jpeg

Working on a house flip with a friend. When we moved one of the couches, I found these 70's vintage Tonka's parked underneath. Tin Jeep Wagoneer Hi-Way Patrol and VW Bug are both in decent shape with just a few missing parts. On my next Michigan trip I will stop by Thomas Toys to see if I can find replacements for the missing parts.

Marx Western Auto truck and trailer.
Yard sale on a Tuesday? Had to stop and buy something I don't need. Any guesses on the age? Wouldn't have bought it if not for this thread. Ron, I'll get you for this! Haha

Finishing up an old Tonka truck I had laying around. Still missing the windshield that I hope to get on my next visit to Michigan and stopping by Thomas Toys. I can then finish installing the roof and bed. Found some nails used for installing floor trim that had heads the same size as the original rivets. Trimmed them down and was able to use them with a bit of clear epoxy to make the front bumper and grille assembly look the way it was originally.

  16. COOL FIND! It's a early 60's. What I like is the advertising. Western Auto was a neat store. I got to pick out my first bicycle there with my dad. Here's a early Studebaker box van truck. I liked the lithograph. Be careful, as these trucks are fun to collect. 20181008_183632.jpeg

  17. Noooo!
The Queen and I were at a party recently. My pals were egging me on to get one of their crazy fast 4 wheelers and ride with them. Getting the ''look'', I mentioned that I already have enough expensive hobbies. Funny thing is, even my friends agreed! I kinda bought the truck knowing it's got to be worth more than the $15 I talked 'em down to.

  18. Ron drags one more of us over to the dark side.:D;)......Just messin' with you Ron. You know that I've been there for years.:)

  20. An old pressed steel Keystone fire and ladder truck. I need to pick up some side ladders for it. It's showing it's age. But they were built tough back then. 20181019_163841.jpeg 20181019_163804.jpeg 20181019_163733.jpeg

  24. MARX was just up the road from me in Glen Dale WV. I knew several old guys that worked there but sadly to say they are all gone. The building is still standing and in use by an engine oil recycling facility where they take old used dirty oil and somehow clean and rejuvenate it.

  27. I was told if Duke tells you anything don't believe him, he is know to lie! :D HRP

  28. Growing up I had friends that had nice old Buddy L and Smith Miller metal trucks all I got was Tootsie toys.

My friend Rene' that suffered a stroke a few years ago has been collecting the old Buddy L toys for years, he even has the train & tracks and about 25 trucks, I did not realize just how expensive those things are. HRP
