Technical Which Starter Solenoid is Correct? 1953 Olds Super 88

    As the title says, Im looking to see which solenoid is the correct one. Before you suggest to go look under the car, this particular Olds came without a starter, so I'm replacing parts I never had. I have uploaded two pics, If you guys could suggest which in correct that would be awesome. Also, if anyone could tell me how they are wired up with a picture, that would be even better! All the wiring diagrams that I have are not so helpful.

  2. I would be inclined to say #1 as it has the ballast resistor bypass terminal.

    A 54-56 solenoid will work. In 1954 they changed the number of teeth on the flywheel.

    Looks like Ill be buying yet another solenoid. smh

    I was wondering why there were two little connectors hanging where the starter goes. Now I know!
