Been looking at windshields for my 32 roadster. Like the Rodwell but it’s out of my price range. Haven’t been able to see a 3” chop in person. I don’t like 2” chop I have seen in person, probably because there was no rake on the cars I saw at car shows. Curious if anyone has 3” chop windshield, if so could you post a pic of it.

  3. I have a 2" chop and thought about going 3" ,but I think it would put the top of the frame in my vision. I have a stock seat with platform and I am 5' 8-1/2 inches tall. IMG_2352.JPG

Original roadster 3" chopped windshield. I'm 6'2" and lowered the seat so I look through the middle of the glass. P1050522.jpg

image.png Do a 2" chop and V- cut the stantions to lay the windshield back just a little. Will look better than a 3" chop.....trust me!
    Edit.....found a pic!

You don't have to V-cut the stanchions, I just elongated the lower hole, and rotated the entire assembly back.
    Works great.

I am 6' and my seat is lowered a bit -- still, the top of the windshield frame is in my field of vision when I look out at the road ahead. It's OK for driving, but honestly not ideal. A bit of an issue to consider, but in my opinion not a deal breaker because the look is so good, and I don't want to sit any lower -- it would make the door jamb too high to hang an elbow out the window.

For sure rotate back like you say.....so many don't do that and the windshields end up too verticle. Some 32's look like they actually shove the windshield assembly forward in their oversize body holes!

2" chop and I flipped around my stanchions driver side to passenger side and it laid back nicely. FullSizeRender.jpg

I wonder how you guy's get the Sid Chavers bob top stuffed in your car, especially thr front topwood ???
I havent found out yet, how i possibly can get it stowed in the trunk, without damaging the ragtop as it is sort of naild to the wood ? Pics of your solution would be nice..... sorry for hijacking this thread.;) I know manny just put it on or leave it off, much like a hardtop, but this option is not my solution.

Also leaned the posts back a few degrees by slotting the lower hole. Snapseed.jpg

No, but very easy to do with a file or die grinder.
    Doesn't take much at all.
Use a protractor to get them the same.
