  2. The Duesenberg engine looks more like the earlier single cam Model A, but with carb modifications.

    The post in the center is a air hose . The mast bends to a spring loaded 45* angle allowing the hose to reach both sides of the car ...When released, it stood back up straight in the air & the air hose hung straight down ...As a youngster, I remember them also being used to, ah..., "launch" , projectiles ... Empty oil cans & things of that nature ..Pull it over with the hose, put the oil can on the tip, & let 'er rip...Not that I would do such a thing ....All the "big Kids" did it of course .....

    This is the Packard Proving Grounds. What a fabulous car. It is more than likely a 1936 V-12 Phaeton. Wonder if it survived?
