Maybe a new thread would create a renewed interest in 52- 54 ford and mercs. since the old one has not received an update since last Aug until today. Probley because of this thread and the link posted above. The more threads the better in my opinion. Never saw anything in the rules about one thread per subject. And just maybe new poster's would feel more welcome. Sorry if I am ranting But I see this a lot on here and feel there is no reason for it. Larry

  12. Thanks for the interest guys and I was not leaving I was just going to move to the other post. I found this car behind a dumpster at a local business and know nothing about it if anyone on here does I would love to know the history. My plans are to make it a driving work in progress the PO already did a 4" chop that has to be fixed most of the bond in the roof is cracking needs to be ground out and replaced. The PO also installed a front frame clip from a what I think is a Camaro or firebird. I have a 350 with a five speed to put in. basically just clean it up for now would like to have it done completely when I retire and that will be in two years and 9 months but who's counting. It will be slow going I work a lot. when I do get started I will start a build thread on the car. In the mean time keep them coming. I need the motivation and the wealth of knowledge on this site.

  17. Thanks HRP. I read the whole thread on your wife's car the back story is great. And I can only hope mine comes out half as good as your wife's did.

  27. Keith, send the moose a photo and ask him if he would photoshop the picture to your likes, he recently did a '50 Ford for me and it sold me on the direction I wanted to go. HRP

To date, I have owned and maintained one '53 Ford Vic, one '53 Ford convertible, eleven '54 Ford coupes, the last (so far) which is receiving my nice fresh 406 FE.
Wish I had a pic of my Vic, (have 2 old photos, will have brilliant young wife attempt to post them on here)
'53 Vic was bought for $275 in Santa Cruz from elderly woman, lowered by me; changed to '55 DeSoto grille, frenched headlights, frenched '55 Olds taillights. Foxcraft flare skirts, shaved hood, deck, door handles. All work done including engine change ('53 Merc) in 2 weeks. October, 1976.
