Event Coverage Bonneville Speed Week 2018

Speed Demon dialed in "Kill" for a shot at top speed of the meet. Blew another engine. I guess they are through for the meet. Flashpoint is planning the same deal. Without the same outcome, I hope. I am somewhat more attached to Flashpoint's engine innards.

I put some more tune up in the engine went out there today went 247 at the Four Mile qualified for the fuel record the ignition switch had some salt in it and it cut out about a thousand foot before the Four Mile so I look for a possible 260 tomorrow for the record

 

Yesterday I saw the flashpoint run as we were pulling up to the line I believe it was the 415 run sound really good at about the two and a half when it went past me. When we were up in the lanes I was talking to a couple of the speed demon guys at that point they told me they had killed two engines and done seven engine changes through the week. Best of luck to your guys.​

How'd you do today, @RichFox? I've been listening to the live stream but I think I missed you when you ran.

 

They didn't run it. It is back togeqather and will run tomorrow on the 323 record. If it lives to the 5 we have a good chance.

 

That video of the Beast is awesome. The sound of Les' fuel hemi pulling hard is hair curling!! Thanks for making my day!

I only know what I hear on the live feed. It ran good to the 3 and then got quiet. Parts falling off and other bad signs. I guess the 415 from a few days ago is the best for this year. Glad to get a 400 + run from it. Really was hoping for more.

The record run this morning still had some ignition problems still was able to set the fuel record at 233 miles per hour. This week I had a hand in setting to records over 200 miles per hour, and two pilots entering the Bonneville 200 mile per hour Club. And with that I put away my wrenches and close my laptop for the last time. My new goal is to do my best to help my six-year-old granddaughter with her education.

 

It was marching as far as the three. New tire ended the week for Flashpoint

 

pilgrim/stubbs racing the stubbs is my baby brother not sure if they took the bikes or not. the truck top speed is 202 and the stude is 249.

 

Opening day of World of Speed. Vesco Turbinator. Slowing in the last mile and still went 482. If his exit speed was 464 and his average speed for the mile was 482 he was going 500 some where in the mile or damn close to it.

Rumor has it that the data logger showed 490 when he shut off and popped chutes. Before the traps. Nothing wrong. This was a warm up run. may go faster tomorrow.

Flashpoint qualifys on Speed Demons A/BFS 423 mph record at 436mph. 451 out the end. Engine running good. No problems known. Going to impound. Two wheel drive. Single piston engine. Good going Bob. Getting to be a lot of 450 mph cars on the salt. All those who wrote off Bonneville racing. What you got to say now?
