Out and about in Southaven Ms and stopped for some pictures. I wanted to show my car as well as Don's Speed Shop , but the lot was too crowded. A nice place to visit and talk with plenty of projects. Later Bil

I have always like 1940 Ford sedans, coupes, trucks, and sedan deliveries. (woody wagons, yes, but they were way out of our pocketbook league.) My first sedan, hot rod ride, was in a red 40 two door sedan with a Buick motor and LaSalle transmission with a huge floor shift lever on it. It was a pure 50s-60s style with lots of power and speed. Then, the next ride was a 40 coupe with an SBC in it. That was cool. Then, finally my stock flathead converted from a 348 in my first 40 Sedan Delivery surf vehicle.

Every time I go somewhere to see hot rods and drag racing cars, there are always the 40s sitting somewhere together, displaying all of their “coolness and goodies.” The above two sedans were some of So Cal’s best with their lowered rake, stance and attitude. Donut Derelicts, Cars and Coffee places, all have the showcase cars displayed together. The Lions Dragstrip Museum opening was a gathering of all kinds of hot rods and race cars.

There is something that just catches my eye and my camera automatically swings over to those 40 coupes, sedans and sedan deliveries.

Maybe a nice woody wagon, too? Nah, still too expensive.

 

I've got Forza Horizon 3, and have around ten, or so, 40 Fords in the game, each one set up a bit different. Heck, there is a "skin" for the '40 coupe that has flames and crazed lacquer, like your coupe used to look!

Those rear 3/4 views of '39's and '40's are just so voluptuous. Might be the sexiest look of any car.

 

I was on the return trip from the NSRA Nats at Louisville Ky and when I past Mt Vernon IL and the right rear tire decided it didn't want to make the return trip back to MO.

I am not going to like this post . Had a radial tread separate like that on the drivers front of a DD. No warning , scared the $%!*& out of me. Only good thing the tire was still up and got stopped easily. Sure did mangle the front fender though. Later Bill

Marietta Aviation Museum Car Show.

 

Almost went to that one but wound up at the show at the Cumming, GA Fairgrounds. Only three 40's there (which is very low for a Georgia based show where 40's are a sort of religion) and this was the only one that did not have IFS and weird paint.

 

Larry, you beat me to the punch on commenting about almost going to the Marietta show but instead going to the one in Cumming and giving this '40 more than a casual glance.
But it's just as well, cause you took some pics and posted them, something I'm sorta lagging behind in.

I thought the BlueFlame in a 40 Ford was cool

It was a little tough to for me to tell if it was coupe or truck. The photo was much smaller when I took it from the other web site.

 

You know how we are.
